~64% of support messages never reach a human anymore

Problem: "Where is my order?"

In a made-to-order model every product is produced on demand — shipping takes longer than standard e-commerce, and customers can't help asking. Most of Tonmode's inbox orbited three questions: where is my order, size/print details and returns. Time zones pushed first response to hours; meanwhile the same customer sent a second and third message.

The real cost: nearly every answer already existed — in the FAQ, the returns page, the Shopify admin. What was missing wasn't knowledge; it was a layer that carries knowledge to the customer instantly.

Solution: widget + Shopify + morning briefing

  1. Knowledge base (first hour): tonmode.com crawled — products, size charts, shipping/returns pages indexed; the auto-FAQ generator prepared answers for the classics.
  2. Shopify connection: e-commerce mode on. "Where is my order?" is now answered live: carrier, tracking number, ETA.
  3. Escalation rule: damaged item, payment issue or an angry tone → hand-off to a human with a conversation summary.
  4. Agent (day two): a morning briefing — yesterday's sales, pending production, critical stock. The weekly sales report is no longer compiled by hand.

Results

"We're made-to-order; 'when will my order arrive' used to be half the day. The widget answers it live from Shopify — I start my day with the agent's morning briefing."
